The Copper Valley Community Services District was formed as a responsible agency to maintain the new community roads built during the installation of the Copper Valley Resort. Roads built decades ago and outside of Copper Valley are typically under the ownership responsibility of the county. When Calaveras County stopped accepting new roads into the system it maintains, it required that new community roads needed to be maintained to local standards by a different source. The CSD was born to facilitate the process of determining that standard, implementing a maintenance plan and funding the roads in Copper Valley. CVCSD is now responsible for the maintenance of Copper Valley Resort roads, storm drains, vector control, weed abatement services, wildlife and wetlands easements and any landscaping not part of the facilities maintained by Copper Valley, LLC.
